About the Forum

Baltic Maritime Forum is one of the biggest annual international research and practical events bringing together under its aegis a number of scientific conferences, round table discussions and workshop sessions on development of science and education in maritime industry, manufacturing industry and agriculture of the Baltic Sea region.

The Forum is aimed at exchange of technological advances, expansion of cooperation in science and technology and elaboration of effective procedures for implementation of groundbreaking ideas in shipbuilding, IT, aquaculture, ecology, agriculture, food biotechnology, aquatic bioresources and functional food technology.

Traditionally, the Forum discusses main scientific and technological trends that determine development of the modern domestic and world fisheries industry. A special role is given to consideration of new educational technologies and improvement of the system of integrated networked maritime education, latest trends and challenges in creating interactive distributed laboratories, as well as intelligent systems for managing coastal infrastructure facilities and territories based on situational center technologies. International Baltic Maritime Forum provides a unique opportunity to expand scientific and business relations, to present scientific findings to the expert community, and to showcase products and services to the Russian and international business community.

In 2017 more than 700 people took part in the Forum, 8 scientific and practical conferences, 2 round tables and a research workshop took place. The best reports on marine issues were published in special issues of the journal “Marine Intelligent Technologies”, St. Petersburg. The journal “Marine Intelligent Technologies” is included in the list of Higher Attestation Commission and the international reference database Web of Science. In total, 57 articles were published on such research areas as “Ship design and construction”, “Shipbuilding and shiprepairing technology”, “Power plants and their elements”, “Automation and management of technological processes and industries”, “Management in social and economic systems” , “Theoretical basics of informatics, mathematical modeling”, etc.
